In Monduli, a village nestled in the highlands of the Arusha Region, schools do their best with limited resources and large classes. Local teachers warmly welcome those who bring fresh energy, because even a few hours of support can make a real difference.

The Weekly Program
Weekdays
From Monday to Friday, your days are divided between English lessons and creative activities in local schools, playtime and social interaction with the children, and free time to share experiences with the other participants.
Mornings are often dedicated to lessons, while afternoons include educational activities or support at the community centre, depending on the school term.
Each day you will also have time to prepare activities for the following day, with support and advice from the local coordinators.

During your stay in Monduli, you will live at the programme centre, located within a school campus surrounded by mountains and nature. The accommodation is simple with essential comforts, designed to give you an authentic experience in close contact with the local community. Rooms are shared (2–6 people), lockable, and come with beds and bed linen provided. Bathrooms are shared: in some cases you will find hot showers, while at other times you may need to heat the water using the bucket method.
There is no Wi-Fi at the property. We recommend purchasing an eSIM so you can have a stable connection throughout your stay. With Airalo, you can buy an international eSIM that can be activated before departure, so you are connected as soon as you arrive. You can easily get one via this link.
The shared spaces are the heart of volunteer life: a large garden where you can relax, communal dining areas, and evenings organised by the staff with games, barbecues, and group activities. Laundry is done by hand, with buckets and brushes available, but it can also become a moment of connection with the other participants.
Meals are prepared directly by the local team and include three meals a day on weekdays and two at weekends. The cuisine is typically Tanzanian, based on rice, potatoes, maize, bananas, and fresh vegetables, with meat- or legume-based dishes. Drinking water and tea are always available.
The centre is in a convenient and safe location: just a short walk away you will find small shops, markets, local eateries, pharmacies, and even a hospital. For anything more extensive, the town of Arusha is about an hour away and can be reached easily by local minibuses (dala-dala). There you will find shopping centres, cinemas, restaurants, and the chance to organise safaris or excursions to nearby national parks.

Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO): the main international airport, with flights from Europe usually connecting via Doha, Amsterdam, or Istanbul. The transfer to Monduli takes about 2–2.5 hours.
Arusha Airport (ARK): smaller, mainly used for domestic/regional flights. It is the closest airport to Monduli, with a transfer of about 45–50 minutes.
