About section

In Hua Hin, local schools welcome volunteers who bring fresh ideas and new energy to the classroom.

In the vibrant coastal city of Hua Hin, English is becoming increasingly important for the future of young people — yet teachers don't always have the tools or the time to practise it every day.

This project was created to strengthen children's and young people's language skills through hands-on, creative activities. As a participant, you'll work alongside local teachers in the classroom, bringing games, songs, and activities that make learning more engaging.

It's an experience that combines the discovery of Thai culture with the joy of watching students grow in confidence, one step at a time.

FAQs

🌞 Your accommodation in Hua Hin

You'll stay at Sunshine House or, alternatively, at Paradee House. Both are located in quiet areas yet close to the city, with easy access to shops, markets, and services. Comfortable and practical, with shared common areas where you can relax and meet other volunteers.

🏡 The facilities

Sunshine House: shared rooms (4–12 beds), air conditioning, shared bathrooms, communal areas with a swimming pool and garden.
Paradee House (subject to availability): private rooms with en-suite bathroom, fridge, kettle, and access to a smaller pool.
Both houses feature lockable rooms, personal lockers, and everything you need to feel right at home.

🍽️ Meals

Included: 3 meals a day on weekdays and 2 on weekends. Home-style cooking, vegetarian-friendly, with Thai dishes (rice, noodles, vegetables, fruit). The city has plenty of restaurants and street food options whenever you feel like a change.

🛏️ Included amenities

Shared rooms (Sunshine) or private (Paradee, if available)
3 meals on weekdays, 2 on weekends
• Free drinks: water, tea, coffee
Swimming pool and communal areas to unwind
Lockers and lockable rooms
Air conditioning in every room
24/7 support from the local team

📶 Wi-Fi, linen & laundry

Towels are not provided (bed linen is). Laundry is available for a small fee or you can hand-wash. Wi-Fi is available in common areas, though it can be slow at times — for hassle-free connectivity, consider a local SIM or an eSIM through Airalo before you leave.

💦 Life in the houses

Between a dip in the pool, a shared recipe, and evening conversations, the accommodation becomes part of the experience itself: relaxation, community, and plenty of stories to take home.
🛡️ Safety and support

In Hua Hin, your safety comes first 🌞 We work only with reliable local partners, constantly supervised by our team, to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience — both during activities and in your free time.

🔹 Participant screening and safe environments
Every volunteer is required to provide a criminal background check before departure. We'll guide you through the process step by step: it's a simple formality that gives peace of mind to you, the other participants, and the community hosting us.

🔹 High safety standards
• All activities are supervised by experienced coordinators
• Clear instructions and safe tools provided for every participant
• Accommodation with lockable rooms and personal lockers
• Safe residential areas, close to shops and medical centres

🔹 24/7 support
The local team is always available — evenings and weekends included — for any questions or unexpected situations. And if you ever need us, our team back home is also reachable via WhatsApp at any time 📲

🔹 Training and orientation
On your first day you'll receive comprehensive training covering on-site safety, group working best practices, and cultural guidelines for respectful interaction with the local community.

🔹 Best practices for a smooth experience
✔ Wear appropriate footwear and clothing during activities.
✔ Use only the tools indicated by the coordinators.
✔ Avoid going out alone at night or to isolated areas.
✔ Always follow the instructions of the local team.

💡 Our goal
To provide you with a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment — so you can focus on what truly matters: collaborating, growing, and living an authentic experience in the heart of Thailand 🇹🇭
🧭 Orientation day

In Hua Hin, your journey begins with a full day dedicated entirely to you: the goal is to help you settle in, understand how local life works, and feel part of the group from day one.

On Monday, together with the local team, you'll have a relaxed but thorough introduction to your new world:

• Welcome meeting and programme overview
• Practical tips on health, safety, and best practices for working outdoors
• Introduction to Thai culture, with fun facts and basic Thai phrases
• Lesson on local customs: what to do, what to avoid, and how to get around respectfully
• Guided tour of the area with useful stops (supermarkets, transport, medical centres, key landmarks)
• Guidance on buying a local SIM card, or the option to set up an eSIM in advance through Airalo

Beyond the practical information, it's also a great opportunity to meet the other volunteers, share what brought you here, and start feeling part of the community 💛

📌 From Tuesday, the real work begins!

From Tuesday you'll start your environmental conservation and awareness activities, working side by side with the local community.
✈️ Arrival recommendations

To start your experience on the right foot, we recommend booking a flight arriving at Bangkok – Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) on a Sunday, ideally between 06:00 and 16:00. During this window our welcome and transfer service to Hua Hin is fully active.

If you arrive on a Saturday, you'll need to book an extra night at our accommodation (with a surcharge).

If you arrive after 16:00, we can still arrange a transfer, but with a small additional fee — or you can make your own way to Hua Hin.

If your flight lands at Don Mueang Airport (DMK), you'll need to get yourself to Suvarnabhumi (BKK) independently, as all pick-ups depart exclusively from there.

Please share your flight details with us as soon as you book, so we can reserve your bus ticket and arrange your welcome transfer.

📍 Meeting Point

The meeting point is at Level 2, Gate 3 of Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). A member of our staff will be waiting with a sign. 👉 If you don't see them straight away, stay put — the team will come to you. Do not move on your own.

🧳 Luggage

The included bus ticket covers up to 20 kg. If you have extra luggage, you may need to pay a small surcharge (reimbursable up to 50 kg upon showing your receipt to local staff).

🕑 Journey time to Hua Hin

The trip from the airport to Hua Hin takes approximately 4–5 hours (including bus and local transfer). You may share the journey with other participants arriving at the same time.

🚖 Departure recommendations

Check-out from the accommodation is by 12:00 on Saturday. The return transfer to the airport is not included, as participants' departure times vary considerably. However, our staff will be happy to help you book a taxi or bus, which you can share with other travellers.

We recommend booking your return flight on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, so you can check out at a relaxed pace and reach the airport without any rush. If you plan to continue travelling in Thailand (e.g. Bangkok, the islands, or other cities), let us know in advance — our team will give you practical advice on the best way to get around.

💡 After confirmation

Once your participation is confirmed, you'll receive an up-to-date document by email with all the practical details and emergency contacts.
