About section

In Goa, the project supports a kindergarten and an outreach programme, giving children what they so often lack: attention, stimulation, and opportunities to grow.

In Goa, many families live in precarious conditions and are unable to provide their children with a consistent education or a structured learning environment. That is why a community kindergarten and afternoon activities in disadvantaged neighbourhoods were established — welcoming the youngest children through play, music, sport, and basic teaching.

The project addresses a real need, creating opportunities for learning and social interaction. As a volunteer, you will work alongside local staff at the kindergarten in the mornings and take part in outreach activities in underserved communities in the afternoons, bringing energy, creativity, and shared time.

In this way, children have the chance to grow with confidence and curiosity, while you experience one of the most authentic and enriching cultural journeys India has to offer.

💬 Life in the Community
The centre is not a resort: it is a shared home among travellers. From shared dinners to evening conversations under the stars, Goa will become more than a destination — it will be an experience to remember 🌺
🛡️ Safety and Support

In Goa, the keyword is peace of mind 🌴 Every programme is carefully selected and monitored to provide a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment — both at the project sites and in the volunteer house.

🔹 Participant Screening
All volunteers are required to submit a criminal background check before departure. We will provide instructions on how to obtain it easily — it is a small but important step that ensures peace of mind for everyone.

🔹 High Safety Standards
• Centres and schools with extensive experience hosting volunteers
• Quiet and safe areas
• Controlled access and local staff always on site
• Partner organisations that professionally host volunteers from around the world

🔹 24/7 Support
From the moment you arrive in Goa until you return home, you will always have the support of the local team — even in the evenings and at weekends. And if you need anything, our HQ team is always available on WhatsApp 🌐

🔹 Training and Orientation
Before departure, you will receive a comprehensive guide with practical advice on safety and local life. On your first day, you will take part in an Orientation Day to quickly familiarise yourself with the culture and the basic rules of communal living.

🔹 Best Practices for a Safe Experience
✔ Avoid going out alone at night
✔ Plan your outings together with other volunteers
✔ Always follow the guidance of your local coordinators

💡 Our Goal
To create a safe and positive environment, so you can focus on what truly matters: sharing, discovering, and growing through your experience in India 🇮🇳
🧭 Orientation Day

Your adventure in Goa begins with a special Monday: a day full of discoveries, smiles, and local curiosities to welcome you to India in the best possible way 🇮🇳

During the orientation, together with the local team, you will explore the area and receive all the useful information you need to settle in:

• Welcome meeting and introduction to the programme and house rules
• Practical tips on health, safety, and Indian cultural customs
• Introduction to the culture of Goa, blending Portuguese influences with local traditions
• Visit to a spice plantation and the project placement sites along the way
• Tour of Old Goa with its UNESCO World Heritage churches and colonial atmosphere
• Evening stroll through the market for your first purchases and a taste of local life
• Tech tip: you can purchase an eSIM before departure through Airalo — so you're connected from day one!

The orientation is also the perfect time to get to know the group, share your motivations, and start feeling part of a new little family.

📌 After the Orientation

From Tuesday morning, you will begin your placement activities, already full of confidence and the right dose of enthusiasm.
✈️ Arrival Information

To start your experience on the best possible note, we recommend booking a flight that arrives at one of Goa's two airports: Dabolim International Airport (GOI) or Mopa Airport (GOX). Our welcome service is available every Sunday from 06:00 to 24:00. Within this time window, a member of the local team will be waiting for you at the meeting point.

📍 Meeting Point

Dabolim (GOI): after passport control and customs, stay on the same floor and head to ENTRANCE 2. Our coordinator will be waiting there with a sign. Do not move — they will remain at that spot.

Mopa (GOX): updated instructions will be sent to you by email after confirming your participation.

Arrival by land: it is possible to arrange a meeting at Mapusa Bus Station, also on Sundays (06:00–24:00).

🕒 Transfer Duration

From the airport → centre: approximately 45 minutes by car.

From Mapusa Bus Station → centre: approximately 15 minutes by car.

💡 Out-of-Hours Arrivals

If you arrive too early (before 06:00 on Sunday), you may request an extra night's accommodation with a paid pick-up, or make your own way to the meeting point.

If you arrive late (after 24:00): this is not recommended, but possible upon request with a special pick-up (extra cost), or by taking a prepaid taxi independently (approximately ≤ 1,500 INR, to be agreed before departure). In this case, our staff will reimburse your taxi fare upon arrival.

🧭 If You Cannot Find Our Staff

Do not leave the meeting point. Call or send a WhatsApp message to the emergency numbers you will receive in your confirmation email.

🚖 Departure Information

Check-out from the Goa centre is on Saturday morning by 12:00. Return transport is not included; however, our staff can help you book a taxi or point you to the nearest bus station.

We recommend booking your return flight from Saturday afternoon onwards, giving you enough time to leave the centre at a relaxed pace and reach the airport without stress.

🗓️ Extending Your Trip

If you plan to continue travelling in India, let us know in advance — we will be happy to share useful tips on transport, nearby destinations, and practical advice.
