Experience community daily life
By working every day alongside local staff, you build a direct connection with the people who live and work in Ahero, sharing their rhythms, spaces and everyday moments.

Monday to Friday, days are spent mainly at the Ahero Community Resource Centre, within the community farm and the agricultural areas of the centre. Activities are practical and hands-on: field work, crop care, support for the poultry unit and maintenance of shared spaces.
Due to the warm climate, activities are concentrated in the cooler parts of the day. Afternoons are generally dedicated to rest, community life or informal exchanges with local staff and fellow participants.
Weekends are free from scheduled activities — the perfect time to slow down, recharge and explore the area at your own pace. You can visit Kisumu, explore the shores of Lake Victoria, take a nature trip or simply stay at the centre and share some time with the local community.

Explore the lakeside city, local markets and waterfront areas, experiencing the contrast between urban life and the rural rhythms of Ahero.
